The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the League Management Company’s report on the cancellation of the league will determine the outcome of the 2019/2020 NPFL season which has had a setback after its suspension on March 18 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The NFF, LMC and Club Owners had held a virtual meeting recently where they were expected to resolve the differences that emanated from the suggestion of the use of Point Per Game (PPG) to finalize the season.
Speaking to reporters in Abuja, John Akanji, the media aide to the Honourable minister, says his boss can not decide on the league’s cancellation without consulting with relevant stakeholders on the issue.
According to Akanji, “the minister will not come up with a unilaterally decision without relating with stakeholders”.
“The Minister is on awaiting the NFF and LMC’s report to be completed before advising the Federal government to take a stance”.
However, Akanji expressed disappointment with the delay in the submission of the report.
“As we wait for the report, I must say that we don’t know why it’s taking more than expected for them report to be submit”.
