Leicester City manager, Brendan’ Rodgers, is of the opinion that the club will not alter Nigeria international, Kelechi Iheanacho’s transfer plans for the summer despite his brilliant showing since the return of the Premier League season.
Rodgers insinuation is not unconnected with “The Foes” search for a center forward in the mould of Glasgow Celtic’s France U-21 teenager, Odsonne Edouard, to act as back up foe Jamie Vardy.
In a pre-match media chat via Zoom call on Monday, Rodgers speaks on whether Iheanacho’s fine form would create a change in the club’s transfer plans, Rodgers reacted:
“It is something we will frankly examine. Kelechi has done brilliantly in our assessment”. “We understand he needed some level of confidence to raise his game., and, now he’s attained that, you have seen how his strengths are playing out. He’s scored goals, perfect”. “He (Kelechi) loves his football. We are looking currently, because each season you want to improve”.
The former Manchester City player who moved to Leicester City in 2017, has two more years on his current contract.
So, far he has banged in 10 goals and also produced four assists in 22 games in all competitions this season.
All eyes will be on the Super Eagles player when Leicester City take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
