Imo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Dan Ogu, has accused the Charles Ezekwem-led interim Management Board of Heartland FC of financial recklessness and impropriety.
Ogu said this while speaking to members of the Imo State Football Association led by its chairman, Mazi Amanze, who paid him a familiarisation visit in his office in Owerri on Monday.
The commissioner added that the management could not account for the millions released to the team in the last one year citing the N30m released to the team last December.
While speaking on the accrued wages of the players and officials of Heartland, Ogu promised to ensure the players are paid before the end of the week.
In his response, Imo FA Chairman, Mazi Uchegbulam, called on the commissioner to help stabilize the deteriorating situation at Heartland.
Uchegbulam, was accompanied on the visit by his vice, Emmanuel Ochiagha and the FA Secretary, Goddy Ndudi.
