Arsenal star, Mesut Ozil, has expressed support for the end to police brutality in Nigeria.
The German midfielder made his support and concerns known on his verified Twitter handle on Sunday.
The tweet stated: “Horrible to hear what’s been going on in Nigeria”. “Let’s make this a trending topic everywhere ▶️ #EndSARS – My thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected. 🇳🇬💚 #EndPoliceBrutality wrote Ozil.
Before Ozil’s interest in the development, top Nigerian soccer stars like Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa and his teammate, Alex Iwobi as well as Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala, had also supported the #EndSARS movement.
Nigerians had trooped out enmass to protest and put an end to human right abuses, harassment, extortion and various degrees of murder of the citizens by the defunct F-SARS, which has now been replaced by SWAT in a statement made known by the Inspector General of Police on Tuesday.
