Super Eagles players and officials arrived Benin airport on Monday morning where they will travel to Freetown for the 2nd leg of the AFCON qualifier against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on Tuesday.
The coach Gernot Rohr side had threw away a 4-goal lead against their opponents to end the first leg 4-4 inside the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium last Friday.
Since the Eagles woeful outing, there had been condemnation of all sorts from millions of Nigerians who have shown unhappiness towards the team.
However, a resounding win for the Eagles may as well asuage the feelings of soccer fans who have demanded nothing short of a comprehensive victory.
In the meantime, Eagles players and officials were again tested for COViD-19 ahead of their trip to Freetown.
The teams Media Officer, Femi Raji, disclosed on Monday that the results returned negative.
“Our #COVID19 tests results came out negative.”
Despite Friday’s draw, Nigeria still leads Group L with 7points while Benin Republic is second with 6points, Sierra Leone is 3rd with 2points and Lesotho in 4th with 1point.
