Anambra FA Chairmanship aspirant, Chikelue Iloenyosi, says the decision of Anambra FA to hold an emergency congress where they concluded in their deliberations to conduct a by-election next year for the vacant chairmanship seat is faulty.
The Anambra FA during its congress on Monday that had no substantive chairman in attendance, agreed to annul the decision of the Appeal Committee that earlier ordered a fresh election for the chairmanship seat with a time frame of two weeks.
While arriving at their decision, the FA said there was no evidence of payment of the appeal fee of N75,000 (Seventy-five thousand Naira) by Iloenyosi, which they say was in violation of Article 33/4 of the Anambra state football statutes.
In his response while speaking to Sports Arena on Tuesday, Iloenyosi described the FA’s decision as an illegal means to create distortion that can not stand the test of time.
He stressed that an FA can not hold a congress without a Chairman to reach a decision to annul the earlier outcome of the appeal committee.
“This is a charade and can’t be taken serious because what they did in Awka on Monday was totally absurd and illegal”.
“Already, I have filed a petition to the NFF to look at the issue and deal with it decisively”.
“I will fight this matter to a standstill until justice is served”.
Meanwhile, the Anambra FA appeal committee had given an order penultimate week for the chairmanship position to take place in two weeks, stating that only a candidate that was cleared during the October 30 election can stand to contest the election.
