Nigeria will host the 2021 U-18 African Volleyball Nations Cup Championship for girls.
This followed the approval of the event by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development after the Nigeria Volleyball Federation’s bid to host next year’s edition.
The championship scheduled to take place inside the Package B of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, will run from January 29 – February 7, 2021.
Speaking on this development on Tuesday, president of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod, says the decision of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) to grant Nigeria the hosting rights was as a result of the trust which the continental body has for Nigeria to deliver on the organisation of the championship.
Already, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, Gabriel Aduda, has asked the NVBF to seek for sponsors in order to be able to host a successful event.
