Enugu State Football Association has ratified Hon. Tony Ugwu as its substantive chairman following the death of of its predecessor and for Nigeria Football Federation board member, late Offor Okenwa in May this year.
Ugwu’s confirmation took place on Thursday during the Association’s extraordinary congress held on Thursday at the Media Centre of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
The congress which had the Chairman of Chairmen, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, in attendance also attracted football administrators from all the local government areas of the state.
Speaking after the FA’s unanimous decision, Ugwu in his acceptance speech called on football stakeholders in and outside the state, to give more assistance in the area of developing the game to enable him succeed in his new role.
Among the dignitaries that were present at the event was Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board member and Chairman of Chairmen, Shehu Gusau.
