Eagles Rubbish Benin Republic Hostile Tactics, As Players Train In Darkness

Ahead of today’s AFCON qualifier, Super Eagles players had a taste of Benin Republic hostile tactics on Friday, as they were subjected to holding their first training session in darkness after the floodlights inside the training pitch of the Charles de Gualle Stadium were switched off by the stadium officials before the arrival of the Coach Gernot Rohr’s side.

According to reports, there was light in the sorrounding environment except the training as the Nigerian team had no option than to intensify their preparations.

The Nigerian contingent had arrived earlier on Friday before holding the training session to strategize for the important game.

In a twist of events, the lights were said to have been restored minutes after the Eagles finalized their training.

Nigeria leads Group L of the qualifying campaign after garnering 8points from the matches that have already been decided, while Benin Republic is in second place with 7point.

The Nigeria/Benin Republic game will kick off at 5pm.
