NPFL: Heartland Picks Vital Away Win Under New GM, Promise Nwachukwu

Heartland FC of Owerri kicked off the second stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season on a bright note with a vital 1-nil away win over Adamawa United at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe, on Sunday.

The victory which has brought excitememt and joy amongst fans of the Naze Millionaires is the first under the new General Manager of the club, Promise Nwachukwu.

Nwachukwu who was appointed few weeks ago to help turn around the fortunes of the club, had promised on resumption to return the team to winning ways by ensuring the players are encouraged and motivated in order to make greater impacts in the reason part of the season.

Today’s win has lifted the Owerri side to 8th spot on the league table.

Heartland will next entertain Jigawa Golden Stars in a Week 21 home.game at the Dan Anyoam Stadium on Wednesday.
