INSECURITY: Road Safety FC Players And Officials Escape Bandits Attack In Niger State

Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Road Safety FC escaped an attack by bandits on Friday, May 28, in Niger State, while their way to honour the league game against Kebbi United, in Kebbi State, this weekend.

According to reports, the team was few meters away from where the bandits were attacking travellers at Zungeru, in Niger state, when they received information about what was happening, and had to change their route leading to Kebbi state through Kotangora.

The team’s assistant coach, David Emmanuel, disclosed that the players and officials were not hurt.

“We are okay,. But, we were metres away from the scene of the bandits when we received first hand information from travellers who escaped being attacked on what was going and we had to change our route”.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria National League has rescheduled the fixture for Sunday, May 30, 2021, in Birini Kebbi, after Road Safety FC had written to inform the league organisers of what happened.
