“A new season is breaking – Believe”, is the new vision set out to propel organisers of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) towards achieving standards in addition to laid down rules and objectives when the 2021/22 League season kicks off on October 14, 2021.

This drive to return the league to its pride of place is being anchored by the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the League Management Company (LMC), Davidson Owumi.

Owumi, who was recently appointed at the Extra Ordinary Congress of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in Benin City, Edo state, will be remembered for the role he played in reorganizing the league as Chairman of the defunct Nigeria Premier League (NPL) when he made history by signing a Multi-million Naira sponsorship deal with Globacom., though, the development was short-lived by those who were opposed to his rising profile at the time.

As Nigerians await another magic touch from the former Nigeria international in his new role, we can’t but wish the seasoned football administrator all the best in his assignments.
