Players of Ghana’s female national team, Black Queens, boycotted their planned training on Sunday over unpaid allowances.
The players were expected to commence training in preparation for the Aisha Buhari Invitational tournament scheduled to hold from September 13-21, 2021, in Lagos.
According to reports, the decision of the players to stay away from training was to protest the inability of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to settle camp allowances owed them in their last assignment in July this year.
Black Queens coach, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoe, had last week announced a 30-team squad ahead of the invitational tournament.
Ghana is expected to face South Africa and Cameroon in the group phase.
