Brazil international, Willian, has walked away from £20.5m and terminated his Arsenal contract in order to secure a move to Brazilian side, Corinthians.
The former Chelsea player had two years left on his £240,000-a-week contract but instead of staying at the Emirates or asking for a pay-off, he has decided to tear up his contract.
Reports say the 33-year-old is not only saving Arsenal £20.5m, but, also set to take a 70 per cent pay cut to return to his former club.
Meanwhile, sources say Arsenal directors are said to be amazed by Willian’s gesture.
