Nigeria National League Chairman, Senator Obinna Ogba, has commended Enugu Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his administration’s decision to approve the hosting of the NNL Playoff for the second time in three years.
The Chairman, Senate House Committee on Sports disclosed this while answering questions as a guest on Dream Fm’s popular pidgin Sports program, Sports Yarn, on Monday.
“I want to commend Enugu state Governor, ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his determination to help development the country’s second tier league”. “For the second time in three years, His Excellency has made history by showing interest to host the season-ending competition”. “This is outstanding in all ramifications and therefore, on behalf of the NNl, I say thank you for your magnanimity”.
The Ebonyi State FA Chairman used the opportunity to call on soccer fans to ensure they adhere to COVID-19 protocols during the period of the competition.
“As football fans, I know you want to cheer and support your team, but, let’s be cautious about our health status by keeping to the Covid protocols as advised by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)”, stated Ogba.
The NNL Super 8 draw which took place on Monday has the following fixtures:
