“For Now, Rohr’s Sack Is Rumor” – NFF
The Nigeria Football Federation has clarified its position on the rumour making the rounds about the sacking of Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr.
In a chat with the federation through the Head of Communications, Ademola Olajire, on Thursday afternoon, the football’s controlling body said their was an ongoing discussion on the issue which has not been finalised.
“There’s an ongoing discussion in that regard but nothing substantial has been reached”.
“If there’s anything, there will be an official statement and not the ones coming out from corners and rumours”.
“We can not be listening to rumours and hearsay”, concludes Olajire.
In the last 24hours, there had been media reports about the sacking of the German tactician after qualifying Nigeria for the final rounds of qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup despite being held to a 1-1 draw by the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in the final group C game decided on Tuesday in Lagos.
The Eagles qualified from the group after garnering 13 points while Cape Verde ended on 11 points.
