The first leg of the 2022 World Cup play-off between Ghana’s Black Stars and the Super Eagles of Nigeria will now hold at a neutral venue.

This follows the latest decision by World football’s governing body, FIFA, to name either Morocco or Benin Republic as host countries.

According to reports, FIFA acted on a complaint submitted to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) over the poor condition of the 15, 000 capacity Cape Coast Stadium pitch which was earlier chosen to host the qualifier.

The stadium is said to have dilapidated after the West African nation held her 65th Independence Anniversary at the stadium recently.
