The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday approved the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi to host the first leg playoff between Ghana’s Black Stars and Nigeria’s Super Eagles. This follows the inspection of the stadium by officials of CAF on Sunday and Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, has invited 27 players for the FIFA World Cup first leg playoff against the Super Eagles on March 29.
According to reports, Addo’s squad includes 4 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 10 midfielders and 5 strikers for the big game.
The invited goalkeepers are Richard Ofori (Orlando Pirates of South Africa), Richard Ofori (Ghana’s Hearts of Oak), Jojo Wollacott (Swindon Town) and Abdul Manarf Nurudeen (Eupen of Belgium).
However, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, says the federation’s decision to delay the release of the Black Stars squad for the clash against Nigeria is intentional and strategic.
