Super Falcons players, Desire Oparanoize and Chinwendu Ihezuo have been dropped from the Super Falcons squad preparing for next month’s Women Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.
This development was made known in a post on the official twitter handle of the Super Falcons on Sunday.
The China-based stars who were initially invited by Coach Randy Waldrum have now been replaced by Anam Imo and Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene.
Meanwhile, Oparanozie says her unavailability is due to the issue of boarder restrictions in China.
In a tweet on Sunday, the Nigeria international wished the Falcons the best of luck in the competition.
“Due to issues bothering on boarder restrictions, which is beyond my control. I am officially unavailable to serve. Which explains my replacement. I wish the team all the best in Morocco as I will be cheering from here”.
The Falcons who started camping in Abuja last Friday, will face continental rivals, South Africa’s Bayana Bayana, Botswana and Burundi in the group stages of the Nations Cup.
Nigeria will begin its title defence in the opening game against South Africa on July 4 in Rabat beefore facing Botswana on July 7 and Burundi on July 10.
